Does anybody have a recommendation for a fuel quantity measuring stick for the 46 gal fuel tanks (88 useable/92 total) on the 79 and later R182?
I've seen them for a 43.5 gal useable fuel tank - I guess that's close enough but if someone knows of a vendor that has a fuel measuring quantity stick ...

Battery Trickle Chargers
For those who use a trickle charger while your plane is hangared, do you use the BatteryMINDer trickle charger? I had an A&P IA tell me that planes with a 28V system generally consume their battery every 2 years. It would be great to get about 5 to 6 years out of a battery. And do you use the ...

Re: Where are the R/TR182s? Source: faa.gov
That is an informative jpeg image of R182s and TR182s. Is this something updated annually or was just a question of how many are left on the FAA registry as of September 2024? As an update, an 1985 R182 has moved from El Paso, TX to Missouri as of October 2025 - I am the new owner.

Re: CHT's for the Lyc O-540
Thanks for the information, it is very helpful. I plan to take possession of an R182 the beginning of November and your information will help me establish a baseline for what I should be seeing on the JPI 730 that is in the airplane.

CHT's for the Lyc O-540
What CHT's can be expected at 75% power and 7500' MSL for the non-turbo Lycoming O-540 engine. Would like to see if there are major differences between the 1978/79 R182 and the 1980+ R182 with the newer cowl design and updated baffles. I am mostly interested in ROP numbers.
