Re: What Brand of tires are you flying? How are they wearing? Here's what 300hrs on Good Year Flight Custom IIIs looks
When we purchased our R182 in late 2020 it came with a set of brand new Good Year Flight Custom III tires. After 300hrs of service we noticed the right MLG tire had noticeably more wear on the outer area of the tread than the inner area, so we recently flipped the tire on the rim. See pics below ...

Re: Main Landing Gear Actuator Bolt Security - SNL86-49
Ive done a ton of these, one thing to know is cessna screwed up this service alert. The 1978 R182s have different actuators and use 1/4 inch bolts; the correct P/N is AN174H22A. It is also much more critical on the 1978 birds to ensure the bolts are correctly torqued. If they get loose, they will ...

Re: Another NLG Collapse due to failed down lock pin/roll pin
If you don't have access to a drill guide, the best thing you can do is have your shop pull the NLG actuator and send it to Cox Airparts. They are widely known as the Cessna retractable gear hydraulic component overhaul specialists. They comply with the SB with every NLG actuator that comes into the ...

Re: Cracked Bendix Magneto face plate
Looks like someone over-torqued the harness plate nuts and pulled that stud too much. The torque on those is super small.

Re: MT Prop installed on R182
My customer has a 1978 R182 and had a prop strike, so we elected to go from a Hartzell three-blade to an MT two-blade. The ride is definitely smoother, and the plane went from 5-8 slower than book to 5-6 knots faster than book plane. Now, this can't all be given to the MT as I completed a full nose ...

Re: Cleaning oil suction screen as required by AD2024-21-02
This is a very nice location of the suction screen on your 300hp engine however the location of the stock o-540 suction screen is much more of a PIA. It's on the back right corner of the pan and right up near the engine mount bar. It is very har to torque and cuss worthy to safety wire.
