Garmin G5 Installation Requirements - Still need AS, VS, altimeter steam gauges

He have a hangar neighbor with G5's in his 182P without any steam gauges. We've heard varying explanations on what is acceptable so looked into it further and found the following:
Garmin’s literature describes their G5 Glass Upgrade for DG/HSI and Attitude Instruments as “Replaces traditional electromechanical instruments -; can be configured in attitude, DG/HI/HSI and turn coordinator positions.” See https://www.garmin.com/en-US/p/570665 for more details
However review of STC doc below confirms analog airspeed, vertical, and altimeter are still required for IFR ops when installing G5's.
