We archive oil filter images at every oil change as dated evidence confirming the health
of our engine - similar to oil analysis. Some believe oil filter element condition is the best indicator
of engine health. We typically see a few small specs of carbon which are black- although not this time, and will
run a magnet over the element looking for metallic content as well.
