Good morning, Scott

To reiterate some of the information we discussed over the phone, we carry a broad range of complete baffle kits and components. These are offered in a bare metal or powder coat finish and seals are available in Black, Blue, Orange and Cowl Saver. We typically keep the bare metal & powder coat with black seals in stock at McFarlane. Other seal colors and special finishes will be assembled at Airforms and shipped to McFarlane to process or can also be drop shipped directly to you from Alaska.
Airforms offers additional special orders of powder coat finishes as well as other custom options.
Bullet points about Airforms baffle parts:

1. 6061-T6 aluminum with black high temperature fiberglass reinforced silicone seals pre-installed.
2. Premium Cowl Saver or standard seal options (black, orange or blue) are available. Extended lead time and extra freight cost may apply.
3. Bare aluminum or powder coat finish (part number indicates finish type).
4. Individually interchangeable with factory baffles.
5. Engineered to eliminate common cracking issues suffered with OEM baffles.
6. Hard rivet construction
7. Improved fit.

I have attached a pdf of the Airforms 2025 product catalog. Page two of this has business and contact information.
A good general email is: info@airforms.biz Additionally, you can email crystalh@mcfarlaneaviation.com or kelcys@mcfarlaneaviation.com .
Both Crystal and Kelcy work at Airforms in Alaska and would be happy to assist you.
Please note that if you call the Airforms phone number it will be redirected to McFarlane. If you are wanting to speak with someone at Airforms directly, please just ask to be transferred to Airforms or ext 600.

I hope that this information is helpful. Please let me know if you have any questions or if there is anything else I can help with.

Have a great day!

On Facebook reply below Chase Duncan confirms the quality of the AirForms baffle kits for R/TR182

"Are you wanting to replace the metal baffles or just baffle seals? McFarlane owns airforms and airforms supports all models of R an TR182. They can make you a complete baffle kit along with cowl saver seals. I sent them the kit they copied for the 78 R182 and installed the new kit they sent back along with cowl saver seals."

Hi Scott,

I received some more detailed information about the finish on Airforms Baffle sets that I thought might interest you and club members. See below:

Powder coat is a static-cling coating that takes the path of least resistance to cling to the part. Then it is baked on. It is a very durable finish option even in the smooth finishes, but the textured finishes are a little thicker and a little more durable.
Powder coating can vary in color a few shades, so color matching exactly is tough to do, especially with powder versus paint.
The shop that we use can powder coat any color out there, however if they do not have the color in stock, then they’d have to order it and they typically ask the customer to pay for the box of powder.
Colors they keep in stock are various shades and styles of black, gray, yellow, orange, reds, blue, green, white, purple, pink.
They also keep a textured white, black, two tone gray (dark gray and light gray texture) and two-tone black & silver.
Some of these colors are offered with a shimmer finish. You could also order (for example) a standard blue and then add sparkles to it in either silver or gold (this is an extra charge).
Some of these colors are also offered in a candy-coating finish.

The lead time for specialty finishes often takes a little longer, but they do run various blacks, whites & two-tone gray frequently.

The only color I DO NOT recommend is gloss black – as it shows scratches and it WILL be scratched as soon as it’s touched.
The scratches don’t compromise the integrity of the powder coating, but they are very apparent in the gloss black finish.

Unfortunately, I do not yet see that these are discount eligible. We’ve had MANY inquiries about this. We occasionally have promotions and I’ve seen that these are always included in our Airventure giveaways. I will keep you informed of any new promotions as they are announced.

I hope this information is helpful!
