Mike Pattison reported Ly-Con port & polish service for this IO-540-K1G5 as $350/cylinder, and total cost for overhaul of all six cylinders to be $2200 each.
Mike reports his airplane picked up 11kts of TAS in cruise flight after Ly-Con's cylinder overhaul/port&polish work.
That's alot of speed to pickup! See further performance information below.

Scott

We’d expect to see 25/30HP increase in the dyno with ported cylinders

And yes, there is an STC on our case o-ring mod…so okay for certified engines. We charge $1278.00 to modify the cases

Hi Chris,

More questions – 1) With Ly-Con porting & polishing of the factory installed Lycoming 0540-J3C5D(235hp) cylinders on the Cessna R182, how much HP increase can be expected? Note: cylinder PN 05K21231
2) Is the rubber crankcase seal available for use on certified airplanes like the Cessna
R182? If so what is the typical cost to cut & install the rubber seal?
Thanks
