'Ice Without Fear' article - FLYING November 1972

Post by scottrsellers »

'Ice Without Fear' may be one of the best articles on GA icing flight ops strategies we've seen. It is also noteworthy the author was killed in an infamous accident in Alaska weeks after publishing. Don Jonz was killed in a C310H along with two U.S. Congressmen, Nick Begich of Alaska and Hale Boggs of Louisiana on 10/16/1972 in an accident that remains well known by many - including my 26 year old son who was familiar with it from his visits to AK.
Isabel Goyer's August 2022 update on the accident in Plane&Pilot magazine https://www.planeandpilotmag.com/news/2 ... ppearance/ is interesting follow up.
