Replacing Pilot/Copilot door windows

Post by N6477T »

Looking for tips/advice removing the window hinge pins to replace the windows. The fixed hinges looked "crimped" slightly making it very difficult to remove the pin. I'd appreciate any help or tips to removing the pins without damaging the fixed hinge or window frame hinge.

Also curious if people remove the door from the airframe to gain better access to the hinges or if this can be done with the door installed.

thanks all,
Chris

Hi Chris,
Can you share a photo of the crimped window hinge you're referring to?
I recall our pilot's side window moving fore & aft(mostly aft) in the hinges that need to be pushed forward occasionally to keep the window from abrading the rear window frame area.
Traveling now so unable to see our airplane to comment further.
