Here Richard Collins is resolute to do better in the coming year's flying. He describes doing better as slowing down to go faster with examples like 1) Do a more thorough preflight, 2)Be more disciplined about using checklists, 3) Prepare better for the flight by filing IFR even when its not needed or reviewing W&B for the flight closer.
Let me add a few such as 1) fly the full instrument approach even if its VFR to keep up proficiency, 2) play a more active roll in your airplane's maintenance(i.e. do you borescope your cylinders? More on this later), 3) Do you always check functionality of your navigator after updating the database? , 4) Is your on-board Ramp Check booklet up to date? We can all do better. Enjoy!
