Dry oil filler tube/port

Last year we suspected the dipstick o ring was the leak source so replaced it but continued to see leaking. In the fall we removed the filler tube/port again and this time wiped down the aluminum washer and the mating surfaces on the crankcase and filler tube. More than 25hrs later staining from former leak is evident but we find the area dry per this photo. If your oil filler tube is leaking try this method.
