2/26/2025 Zoom Call with McFarlane Aviation
Austin Beine of McFarlane Aviation explained the FAA/PMA process and how McFarlane often manufacturers better than OEM quality parts. McFarlane evaluates field performance and typically makes improvements to original design/materials resulting in superior performance. We've used McFarlane parts for years so can confirm their better than OEM quality(which is sometimes less than ideal) at a lower price point. A good example of this is McFarlane's quadrangle nose strut seal. We installed that seal P/N: MCSK172-1F https://www.mcfarlaneaviation.com/produ ... x=1&page=1on our R182 NLG strut in February 2021 and have flown more than 300hrs. without needing to service the strut, and without leakage of hydraulic fluid. Formerly our strut required servicing(fluid & nitrogen) almost every year with the original o ring installed. See slide #5 below for graphics of the quadrangle seal. Checkout the Zoom call at https://youtu.be/hc-_s8T1kHM?si=3GEYP4o8S0CmDqlc to hear about the three(3) new R/TR182 parts projects in development with McFarlane.
