Re: Propeller Ground Ops - Best Practice for Cycling - Cessna Owner mag., April 2022

Great info Scott. I have a Hartzell 3 blade and I have surging issues the first flight of the day. I’ve only been cycling once and air in the system explains why it settles down after a bit. Thanks.

I just finished watching the Zoom replay on YouTube. Thanks for getting that together Scott. Scott, you asked about a group purchase by club members. Has anything come of that yet? I'm also curious about which shops our members have used. I'm going to give them a call on Monday and check on the year ...

Re: Starting issues

My starting issues are now resolved and it was a weird one. The center jet for the #3 primer nozzle went AWOL. Only the back four cylinders have primer nozzles. #3 was getting most of the fuel from primer strokes flooding it badly while the other three were probably under primed. We don't know where ...

Starting issues

I'm in the midst of tracking down engine start issues. It's been getting progressively worse the past 3 months or so. I'm about 300 hours into a dual-mag overhaul and my money is on the impulse coupling. I tried to crank it yesterday and had to wait 30 minutes after I hit the starter duty cycle. My ...

Re: Less than ideal Carb Air Box repair

My carb temp issue still persists, unfortunately I ordered a new heat box to carb adapter box duct from Airpower and I'm going to get my mechanic to re-route the fuel pump drain such that it isn't impinging on the duct.

Re: Less than ideal Carb Air Box repair

After watching the induction video with Chase Duncan, I got motivated to have a look at mine this morning. The first thing I found, and should have seen long ago, was the missing seal on the back side of the NACA intake. My bearings are also shot on the carb air box butterfly shaft, but the ...

I answered my own question. John Efinger and cessnarigging.com is what I was looking for.

Flight Control Rigging

Does anybody know a good shop for flight control rigging? I went to the Cessna Pilots' R182 mx class a few years ago and Paul New caught me with mis-rigged ailerons. Doh!

Since then, my local mechanic got them properly re-rigged (they hit the stop in both directions of travel). I'd like to get a ...
